Residents are encouraged to join the A’azadi celebrations in droves, on Monday, 14 August, 2023, being coordinated by SOBER, in collaboration with the BE Management, Sehri’s eVants & GreenFest, and many community activists, as detailed below:
- Flag-hoisting ceremony. (To be performed by Mr. Abdul Ahad Haqqani, Founder-President, SOBER, at 9 am, G-Sector ground);
- Speeches, quiz, and Milli songs, and races. (Master of ceremonies: Ms. Zainab Sial) – at 9-15 am, G-Sector Sports ground. Every participating child will be awarded;
- Football Match between two teams of BEI youth. (G-Sector ground)
- GREEN-BAHRIA ENCLAVE: Free distribution of ornamental plants, rare saplings, and exchange of plants among residents at 5:30 pm to 7 pm, at Musical Park, C-Sector. This programme is being held by Mrs. Salma Kamal, and Ms. Robina Riaz, with the support of Mr. Javed Iqbal Raja, a community elder. There are gift surprises for participating children;
- AAZADI MELA features shopping for exquisite national handicrafts; food, and music. Arena for kids is being set up. And, much more. It is a two-day Mela from 12 noon to midnight at Al-Ibrahimi complex on 13-14 August, 2023. SEHRI’s eVANTS are the Chief Organisers of this Mela.
