This meeting was chaired by VCE, Commodore Muhammad Ilyas. He was assisted by Project Director, Brig. (R) Shehzada Imtiaz, and other senior officials. SOBER was represented by all seven EC members.
19-item agenda was discussed at the meeting.
The Mgt.’s response to each of these items is reproduced below:
1. Efforts are afoot to providing municipal water for all sectors. A, B & sectors are already fully covered. C-1 sector will be next recipient. Work is in progress regarding other Phase-2 sectors.
2. Demand notice for gas connections is expected to be issued shortly. Frankly, it will be a long haul for known reasons.
3. Headway has been made as regards the setting up of a full-facility Farooq Hospital in C-1 sector. Timeframe : About 2 years.
4. Waiting period for various NOCs, approvals stands reduced from present 45 days to 21 days. Filing of affidavits, based on POA will also be reformed for the convenience of house builders.
5. Provision of ICT facilities in phase-2 sectors is being expedited. J&N sectors are prioritised, followed by M, and other sectors. A new ISP has been contracted for sector I. Performance, and capacity of PCTL leave much to be desired.
6. Asphalt plant is being relocated from B sector.
7. LPG cylinders: Residents are advised to request FO to replace cylinder two-days before its expiry even if some quantity of gas remains.
8. Work is in progress regarding building of new Jamia Masa’ajid, and their satellite versions. Mgt. is aware of the need for renovation of existing Masa’ajid.
9. Preliminaries have been carried out in respect of the setting up of a Petrol pump, and Community Centre.
10. Parking lots, built at higher elevation in commercial areas will lowered.
11. MSM will continue to provide heightened security with better professionalism, and training of its personnel.
12. Mgt. has agreed to sensitise CDA to set up a weekly Sunday Bazaar for sale of vegetables, and fruit, in close vicinity of BEI to offset the negative effects of inflation on residents.
13. Call receiving telephone system of FO will be further improved to mitigate the complaints of residents.
14. Mgt. has agreed to provide septic tank cleansing facilities at a reasonable fee.
15. Mgt. at present is harvesting water for purposes of construction from B sector. Service vehicles have been prohibited to extract water at night.
16. Various proposals are under consideration at the Head Office for providing access road to Park road for BEI residents.
17. Mgt. has agreed to meet SOBER EC on the first Saturday after every two months.
18. VCE, BTPL has agreed to visit BEI after each quarter to confer with EC of SOBER.
19. The meeting lasted for over two hours.
While concluding the meeting, VCE conveyed that the Chairman, BTPL kept BEI, and welfare of its residents close to his heart. He said that the Chairman would do everything possible to improve the quality of life, and create greater community harmony in BEI. On behalf of SOBER, President Kazmi thanked VCE, and PD sahiban for their open door policy, helpful attitude, and their concern for the welfare of residents. He expressed the hope that the development work will be expedited.
